Simulation And Modeling Industrial Placement at Mercedes-AMG F1

Merritt Vassallo is currently serving as a Simulation and Modeling Industrial Placement at Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team, beginning July 2024. While pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering at Stanford University, Merritt has contributed as a Computer Science and Engineering Peer Tutor, assisting over 100 students in various engineering and computer science classes. Merritt's leadership skills are evident as Co-President of the Stanford Chapter of Engineers for a Sustainable World and as Biochar Project Lead, where efforts focused on developing sustainable solutions for rural Malawi. Previous experiences include an Electrical Engineering Internship at Arrow McLaren IndyCar, and as a Shultz Energy Fellow with the California Department of Water Resources, conducting feasibility analysis for solar installations. Merritt also volunteered at the Computer History Museum, led an FRC robotics team, interned at PRENAV, and founded a project aimed at aiding individuals with Parkinson's disease.
