Shawn Stachel

Shawn Stachel is an experienced pharmaceutical professional with over two decades at Merck, where roles include Director, Senior Research Fellow, Program Team Leader, and Team Leader in Exploratory Chemistry. Notably, Shawn serves as the primary program leader for various exploratory chemistry initiatives focused on Lead Identification and target validation involving nuclear hormone receptors, kinases, GPCR modulators, ion channels, and protein-protein interaction inhibitors. Prior to Merck, Shawn worked at Wyeth as a Research Fellow, Senior Research Chemist, and Chemist from 1992 to 1994. Shawn holds an NIH Postdoctoral degree from Memorial Sloan-Kettering, a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from UC Irvine, and a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Delaware.
