Ian Lawrence

Ian Lawrence is an experienced maritime professional with a diverse background in navigation and marine operations. Currently serving as a Consultant for SureNav since August 2018, Ian specializes in navigation audits and incident investigations through remote analysis of VDR data. As a Marine Pilot and Interim Harbour Master for Associated British Ports since February 2015, Ian has led the marine team in fulfilling statutory responsibilities during challenging times. Previous roles include training management and piloting at Jersey Harbours, captaincy at CEMEX, and various officer positions with notable cruise lines. Ian holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Maritime Law from the University of Southampton, an MSc in Shipping Operations from Solent University, and a Master Mariner degree from Warsash Maritime Academy.
