Rita Bosworth is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in civil rights, product counseling, and civic engagement. Currently serving as Associate General Counsel, Product (Youth) at Meta, Rita leads the elections and civic engagement pillar of the Legal department's Civil Rights team, focusing on the implications of generative AI products on elections and civil rights. Prior to Meta, Rita was a Deputy Attorney General at the California Department of Justice, where responsibilities included leading trial and appellate counsel in the Civil Division. As the founder and Executive Director of the Sister District Project, Rita successfully organized nationwide efforts to enhance progressive power in state elections. Additionally, Rita has a significant background as a Trial and Appellate Attorney for the Federal Public Defender, providing legal representation to indigent clients, and served as a law clerk for the Honorable Henry H. Kennedy, Jr. at the U.S. District Court. Rita holds a Doctor of Law (JD) from Stanford Law School and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from the University of California, Davis.
