Shane Hunter

Shane Hunter currently serves as Vice President of Safety, Security, & Business Continuity at Metropolitan Utilities District, a position held since May 2017, after previously working as Safety Manager. Prior experience includes a role as Scuba Diving Instructor at DiVentures from September 2015 to January 2023, and Assistant Fire Chief at the City of Omaha from March 1997 to April 2017. Shane also served as an Adjunct Instructor in Fire Science and Emergency Management at Metropolitan Community College from 2007 to 2010. Earlier career experience includes a position as Firefighter with CAL FIRE from May 1990 to March 1997 and as a Security Specialist in the United States Air Force Security Forces from June 1985 to February 1990. Educational achievements include a Master of Science in Security Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Bellevue University, along with an Associate of Science in Fire Protection Technology from Southeast Community College.
