Steve Cooper

Steve Cooper currently serves as the Director of Workforce Innovation at the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments, a position held since October 2024. Prior to this role, Steve was the Chief Executive Officer at NextUp Solutions and Exelaration from November 2019 to August 2024, where NextUp Solutions became the leading provider of Agile, Scrum, and Kanban training, while Exelaration established itself as a prominent software development partner. Additionally, Steve co-founded Excella in January 2002 and was a principal at Perspective Technology Corporation from 1989 to 1998, following a consultancy role at Accenture from 1987 to 1989. Steve holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics, Music, and Business Administration from Hope College, where education was completed between 1983 and 1987.
