Adán Ortega Jr.

Adán Ortega Jr. serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, leading a 38-member board since October 2022. As the founder of Ortega Strategies Group, Ortega specializes in advocacy and media relations, focusing on client loyalty without conflicts of interest. Co-founding the California Association of Mutual Water Companies in 2013, Ortega contributed to the growth of this nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting mutual water companies in California. Previous experience includes being a board member for the California State Board of Food and Agriculture, and serving in various strategic roles such as Deputy Managing Director at Rose & Kindel and Vice President of External Affairs at the Metropolitan Water District. Ortega's early career involved significant contributions to voter registration initiatives as Chief Deputy Secretary of State. Ortega holds a B.A. in English and History from Whittier College and has completed the California Agricultural Leadership Program.
