Mel Moeinvaziri

Mel Moeinvaziri is an experienced legal professional specializing in asylum and deportation defense. Currently serving at the Michigan Immigrant Rights Center since February 2022, Mel has previously held positions as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law and Attorney at Perretta Law Office. Mel also contributed to the Pro Bono Initiative as a Fellow and Director of the Community Legal Clinic: Sugarhouse. Additional experience includes judicial internships with the United States District Court in Utah and the Executive Office for Immigration Review. Mel holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law, an MSc in Refugee and Forced Migration Studies from the University of Oxford, and dual Bachelor's degrees in Political Science and International Studies from the University of Utah.
