Jabbar R. Bennett

Jabbar R. Bennett, PhD, currently serves as Vice President and Professor of Medicine at Michigan State University since 2020. Previously, Jabbar held the position of Associate Provost and Associate Professor of Medicine at Northwestern University, as well as various leadership roles at Brown University, including Associate Dean of the Graduate School and Director of the Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs. Early career experiences include administrative and teaching roles at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School, and the United Way of Massachusetts Bay and Merrimack Valley. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from Meharry Medical College and a BS in Biology and Spanish from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, complemented by a high school diploma from North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics.
