Andreas Umland

Andreas Umland is an analyst at the Stockholm Centre for Eastern European Studies since April 2021, and a member of the Advisory Council for the Black Sea Program at the Middle East Institute since November 2023. Umland serves on the Advisory Board of the University of Tartu Ukraine Centre and is a board member for the Deutsch-Ukrainisches Forum e.V. Umland's editorial roles include membership on the editorial boards of World Affairs, the journal Fascism, and the Forum für osteuropäische Ideen- und Zeitgeschichte. Umland is also a co-founder of the Centre for Democratic Integrity and a collector for the book series "Ukrainian Voices," which aims to promote Ukrainian perspectives in English and German. Education includes a Ph.D. in Politics from the University of Cambridge and other advanced degrees in History and Political Science from prestigious institutions such as Freie Universität Berlin, Stanford University, and the University of Oxford.
