Wael Sawah

Wael Sawah is an experienced professional in the field of civil society, political analysis, and media within Syria. Currently serving as a Board Member for the Middle East Institute - Syria Program Advisory Council and as the President - Executive Director of Pro-justice since 2018, Sawah has also held the position of Editor-in-Chief at The Syrian Observer since 2013. Previously, Sawah was the Chief Executive Officer of The Syrian Center for Media and Freedom of Expression, where the organization focused on promoting freedom of speech and human rights. Additional experience includes serving as the Executive Director of The Day After Organization, which aimed to facilitate a democratic transition in Syria, and working as a Political Analyst at the US Embassy in Damascus and a Public Affairs Officer at the Embassy of Canada in Damascus.
