Mehmet Temel

Board Director at Milli Eğitim Vakfı

He was born in 1947 in Kilis. He completed his primary education in 1959 and his secondary education in 1965 in Kilis. In 1969, he graduated from Ankara Boys' Technical Higher Teachers' School, Metal Works Department.

He started his career in 1969 as a trainee teacher at the Metal Works Department at the Mus Male Art Institute. Then he worked as a manager in Aksaray and Van Industrial Vocational High Schools. In 1976, he worked as a Branch Manager in the Department of Studies and Programming in the central organization of the Ministry of National Education, and as a branch and unit manager in the General Directorate of Male Technical Education. Between 1979-1984, he worked as Deputy Director and Deputy Director of Higher Technical Education School, Deputy General Manager at the General Directorate of Apprenticeship Education, and lecturer at Gazi University, Faculty of Technical Education, Metal Works Department.

Between 1983-1985, he was the Director of Balıkesir 100. Yıl Technical High School, Industrial Vocational High School and Apprenticeship Training Center. He was appointed as Head of Department (1985) and Deputy General Manager (1989) at the Ministry of National Education General Directorate of Technical Education for Boys. While carrying out his duty at the General Manager, he was a member of the Board of Education between 1992-1994. Along with being a member of the Board, he served as the Vice Chairman of the Board of Education and Discipline for a while. In 1994, he was appointed as the General Manager of the General Directorate of Technical Education for Boys. In 1995, he was appointed as the Deputy Undersecretary of the Ministry of National Education. He graduated from the National Security Academy in 1999. Between 1999 and 2007-2008, he served as the Undersecretary of the Ministry of National Education.

He attended a 3-month training program on vocational and technical education administration at Thrinity College in Dublin, Ireland. He carried out research and training studies in the field of vocational and technical education in America, Germany, England, Switzerland, Japan, South Korea, Libya, Ethiopia and some other countries. She attended international meetings and conferences. He attended the 2nd Conference of Ministers of Education of Turkic Republics and Related Turkic Communities held in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, as a member of the Board of Education. She took part in the writing of the concluding statement of the conference.

He voluntarily retired from the Ministry of National Education as the Deputy Undersecretary. He undertook the writing of the Advanced Welding Technologies basic textbook. He speaks English and has two children.
