Joanne Bartkus

Joanne Bartkus has extensive experience in the field of microbiology and public health, having worked at the Minnesota Department of Health from 1998 to 2007 as a Molecular Epidemiology Unit Supervisor and Research Scientist, before advancing to the role of Director of the Public Health Laboratory from 2007 until retirement. Prior to their tenure at the Minnesota Department of Health, Joanne Bartkus gained experience as a Microbiologist at 3M Health Care from 1990 to 1998. Academic qualifications include a Ph.D. in Microbiology from Cornell University and both a B.S. and M.S. in Microbiology from Northern Illinois University.
