Michael Arensen

Michael Arensen is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in safeguarding, conflict research, and humanitarian action. Currently serving as the Global Senior Advisor for Safeguarding at Misjonsalliansen since October 2024, Michael has previously held significant roles such as Senior Project Manager/Adviser at Berghof Foundation from November 2016 to September 2024 and Lead Researcher for the South Sudan Customary Authorities Project at Rift Valley Institute. Michael's background includes positions at various organizations, including IOM - UN Migration, Oxfam International, and the Norwegian Refugee Council, focusing on civilian protection, food security, and conflict analysis. Michael's academic qualifications include a Master's degree in International Humanitarian Action from Uppsala University and a Bachelor of Arts in Intercultural Studies from Houghton College.
