Jose Garcia has extensive experience in project management and program development within the nonprofit sector, particularly in economic development. Since June 2018, Jose has served in various roles at the Mission Economic Development Agency, currently holding the position of Associate Director of Preservation. Prior roles at the agency include Program Manager, Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager, and Project Assistant. Prior to this, Jose worked as a Substitute Teacher/Instructional Associate at Sequoia Union High School District from August 2015 to May 2016. Jose holds a degree in International Business from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo, where studies were completed from 2006 to 2010.
