Peter Riggs

Peter Riggs is a seasoned professional in climate advocacy and environmental governance with extensive experience in nonprofit leadership and program management. Currently serving as a Board Member for Mongabay and Pacific Environment, Peter Riggs previously directed Pivot Point, focusing on climate justice and sustainable land use from April 2013 to January 2023. With a strong background in overseeing climate initiatives, Peter Riggs served as a Senior Adviser on Bioenergy for the Packard Foundation and managed climate change programs at the Ford Foundation. Peter Riggs held directorial roles at the Forum on Democracy & Trade and the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, contributing to their expertise in resource rights and forestry. Educational qualifications include an M.Sc. in Tropical studies from Newcastle University and a B.S. in Population Biology from Oberlin College.
