Canaan Huie

Canaan Huie is a legal professional with extensive experience in public service and private practice. Currently serving as Counsel at Moore & Van Allen PLLC since January 2013, Canaan represents a diverse range of clients, including nonprofits and Fortune 50 companies, focusing on legislative matters and providing expertise in campaign finance and ethical standards. Previously, Canaan served as General Counsel for the North Carolina Department of Revenue from January 2011 to December 2012, advising senior management on legal issues and tax policy. Additionally, from October 1998 to January 2011, Canaan worked for the North Carolina General Assembly as House Finance Counsel and Principal Staff Attorney, engaging in legislative initiatives related to taxation and public finance. Educational credentials include a JD from Duke University School of Law, an MBA from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business, and a BS in Honors in Mathematical Economics from Wake Forest University.
