Annie Adams

Dr. Annie Adams, professor of English, was elected by the faculty to serve as the 14th faculty regent on the MSU Board of Regents.

She received her Ph.D. in English from Bowling Green State University in 1998, the same year she joined the faculty at MSU. Dr. Adams has served on numerous committees at the department, college, and university level. When she was the graduate coordinator, she facilitated the transfer of the English MA to an online environment (the first of its kind in the nation), and during her tenure as Faculty Senate chair (2015-16), she was the sole faculty representative on the president’s Budget Taskforce. In addition to serving on the General Education Implementation Committee, she also coordinates film studies assessment.

She has published and presented on a range of modern and contemporary works (both literary and cinematic). Her current research interest is the variegated deployment of “value” in debates over the role and function of higher education. Her term ends in 2023.
