Marion Weir

Marion Weir is a Senior Scientist at Mosaic Biosciences. Marion has a background in research, product development, and technical support.

Weir began their career as a Proteomics Facility Lab Technician at the University of Vermont, where they managed collaborative mass spectrometry projects. In this role, they were responsible for tissue culture, training collaborators on sample preparation, running samples, data analysis and interpretation. Marion also utilized LTQ XL, Orbitrap, and Q-exactive instruments for both protein ID, post-translational modifications and quantitative proteomics.

Weir then transitioned to CST, where they worked as a Product Scientist. In this role, they created and validated new lots of antibodies and tested material by Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Marion also provided Technical Support to customers through phone and email.

Most recently, Weir has been working as a Research Associate at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. In this role, they focus on Diabetes, Obesity, and links to Cancer. Marion is particularly interested in the tumor microenvironment and how cellular signaling pathways change with comorbidities.

Dr. Marion Weir earned their Ph.D. in Biology from the University of Vermont. Marion also holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Animal Science from the University of Vermont.
