Barend Smit

Barend Smit is a highly experienced professional currently serving as the Head of Digital Operations at Kia South Africa since April 2024. With a career spanning over a decade in various roles at MOTUS HOLDINGS LIMITED, Barend has held positions such as Innovation Coach, Marketing Director for the MotorHappy brand, and Head of Digital for LiquidCapital. Prior to this, Barend worked at Deloitte Digital Africa as Strategy & Innovation Lead and at Striata and Grapevine Enterprise Mobility in business development capacities. Barend holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a specialization in Marketing from the University of South Africa and has completed multiple higher education programs, including a BComHons in Strategic Management from the University of Johannesburg, where Barend was recognized as a top achiever.
