Hassan Amini

Hassan Amini is a seasoned metallurgist with extensive experience in mineral processing and extractive metallurgy. Currently serving as a Senior Metallurgist at MP Materials since March 2023, Hassan is responsible for managing various internal and external projects related to process assessment and design. Previous roles include Senior Metallurgist at KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. and Assistant Professor at West Virginia University, where Hassan led interdisciplinary teams in federally and industry-funded projects while also mentoring students. Additional experience includes positions as Research Scientist and Postdoctoral Associate at Virginia Tech, Graduate Research Assistant at both West Virginia University and the University of Kentucky, and early roles in mining and engineering internships. Hassan holds a PhD in Mining and Mineral Engineering from West Virginia University, a Master's degree from the University of Kentucky, and a Bachelor's degree from Amirkabir University of Technology.
