Andrew joined MSA in 2001 and serves as MSA’s Agricultural Services team leader. His passion for agriculture enables him to collaborate well with farmers and farming industry clients—helping them make better decisions for their farming operations. Being an active partner creates more sustainable farms and structures that promote animal comfort and greater operational ease. Andy also serves as a market lead for state and federal projects and client development within the state of Wisconsin, where he helps establish and nurture both new and existing clients and market opportunities in support of company growth.
Andrew’s expertise in project management, construction management, farmstead planning, permitting, composting and alternative funding have enabled him to work with hundreds of farm families across the U.S. One of those families is Kieler Farms, Inc., from Platteville, Wis. Andrew worked with the Kieler family on all types of projects: manure lagoons, vertical walls, under-barn manure storage, piping and pumping systems, gravity piping systems, sand separation and washing, beef finishing barns, free-stall barns, feed storage, leachate and runoff collection, stormwater, calf housing, pastures, cost-share funding, permitting, barn yards, sorting lots—and most recently, a brand new 2,000 cow dairy. The dairy incorporates many of the practices previously mentioned, along with a feed storage system. The project was awarded the 2017 Innovation Award for watertight asphalt pavement from the Wisconsin Asphalt Pavement Association (WAPA).
Andrew is an active member of several professional associations such as the Wisconsin Dairy Business Association (DBA), Wisconsin Farm Bureau, Wisconsin Association of Professional Agricultural Consultants (WAPAC) and Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin (PDPW) where he serves as an advisor to the board of directors.
Andrew earned degrees in civil engineering and environmental engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in seven states: Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
