Sean Petersen

Sean Petersen is an experienced energy professional with a robust background in subsurface operations and optimization. Currently serving as Vice President, Subsurface at Murphy Oil Corporation since April 2011, Sean has held various leadership roles overseeing production and reservoir engineering teams in the development of Eagle Ford Shale and optimization of base production. Prior to this, Sean spent over a decade at BP, where responsibilities included analyzing production losses, leading multidisciplinary teams for drilling programs, and optimizing production from viscous oil wells. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering from Michigan Technological University and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota.
