Marilyn K. Speedie

Dr. Speedie is the Dean Emeritus of the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy. Before coming to the University as Dean and Professor of Pharmacy in 1996, Dr. Speedie spent 21 years on the faculty of the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy where she last served as Professor and Chairman of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Dr. Speedie received her B.S. in Pharmacy and a Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmacognosy from Purdue University. She has been recognized with several teaching awards during her career and is author or coauthor of over 60 scientific articles in the areas of Biotechnology and Pharmacy Education. She served as President of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, is presently on the Board of Trustees of the United States Pharmacopoeia, and serves on the Board of Directors of the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Technology and Education.
