Judge Joyce A. Campbell, J.D., is First Vice President of the NAMI Board of Directors. She is a member of NAMI Butler County and serves as President of the NAMI Ohio Board of Directors. Additionally, she serves as the First Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Ohio Suicide Prevention Foundation.
Joyce first found NAMI in 2000 and included them through her development of a certified specialized mental health docket in Ohio. A NAMI representative is present at each weekly hearing to assist those with a mental illness that are involved in the criminal justice system and their families.
She currently serves as the Chair of the Ohio Judicial Conference and on the Ohio Supreme Court Commission on Specialized Dockets and, in her leadership positions, works to encourage the implementation of a specialized docket for individuals with a severe mental illness involved in the criminal justice system in every jurisdiction throughout the country. She is a member of numerous professional associations and has bar admissions in the state of Ohio, the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Northern Districts of Ohio, the U.S. Supreme Court, and the state of Kentucky.
Joyce earned a B.A. in Psychology and Sociology from Case Western Reserve University and a J.D. from the CWRU School of Law.
For the 2021–2022 Board term, she serves on the Executive and Board Policy & Governance Committees.
