Jess Helfand

Jess Helfand, DipWSET, MBA, is an accomplished wine educator and economist with extensive experience in both the wine industry and economic analysis. Currently serving as a Wine Educator at Napa Valley Wine Academy since January 2017, Jess teaches courses accredited by the Wine & Spirits Education Trust (WSET) and authors the Wine 201: Wines of the World curriculum. In addition, Jess has been an Economist and Team Leader at the Bureau of Labor Statistics since June 2005, overseeing a team of analysts while producing and reviewing economic data. As a Wine and Spirits Consultant at Grand Cru Wines and Spirits since August 2016 and previously as a Senior Wine Consultant at Crystal City Wine Shop, Jess focuses on delivering exceptional customer service and wine education. Jess holds an MBA from the University of Maryland and advanced degrees in Policy Economics and Economics with a concentration in Russian Studies from Tulane University.
