Paul Hinterlong

Council Member at City of Naperville, IL

Sixth generation Napervillian Paul Hinterlong embodies Naperville’s spirit of community volunteerism. A graduate of the Naperville North High School Class of 1983 and College of DuPage attendee, Hinterlong’s election to the City Council in 2009 capped off decades of service to this City.

Hinterlong has given of his time on Naperville’s Advisory Commission on Disabilities, Naper Settlement Board, Naperville Special Events Committee, Citizens Appreciate Public Safety (CAPS), Naperville Healing Fields and Naperville Plan Commission. He has also served as a Naperville Area Homeowners Confederation Director; Westside Homeowners Association president; and a board member for Crime Stoppers, Naper Bridge/Alive, Community Alliance for Prevention and Community First. Hinterlong has been a key influencer as part of several stakeholder and work groups, including the Naperville Comprehensive Transportation Plan, Washington Street Corridor Study and Downtown DuPage River Trail.

A plumber by trade, Hinterlong has been working in the plumbing industry since 1987. Outside of work, he enjoys golf, kayaking, softball, running and biking. A strong advocate for communities celebrating and retaining their heritage and history, Hinterlong is proud to be a part of Naperville’s legacy.

Councilman Hinterlong serves as a liaison to the Advisory Commission on Disabilities and the Naper Settlement Museum Board.
