John Mickelson

John Mickelson is a seasoned finance and business professional with extensive experience in private equity, corporate governance, and local government. As Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Midwest Growth Partners since January 2014, John oversees a private equity fund managing over $325 million in capital. Additional board roles include serving as a Board Member for AgCertain Industries, the Iowa Wave Shirt, and as a Board Member at Large and Executive Committee Member for the Small Business Investor Alliance. Previous positions include Chairman of the Board at Maytag Dairy Farms, Board Observer at Ullman Oil Company and Gilman Cheese, and City Councilman for the City of West Des Moines. John holds a BBA in Finance, Accounting, and Entrepreneurship as well as an MBA and JD from the University of Iowa.
