Rezwanul Islam

Rezwanul Islam serves as the Deputy Executive Director and Managing Attorney for Nassau County at Legal Services of Long Island since April 2012. In this role, Rezwanul supervises multiple advocacy projects, including the Disability Advocacy Project and the Nassau County Mental Health Law Project, and organizes the COVID-19 Reopening Committee. Previously, Rezwanul held positions as Supervising Attorney and Staff Attorney, providing civil legal services to vulnerable populations. Notable past experiences include the Access to Justice Fellowship at CUNY, where representation was provided to indigent clients, and participation in immigration and refugee rights projects during an internship at CUNY School of Law. Rezwanul holds a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from CUNY School of Law and a dual undergraduate degree in Pharmacology and Toxicology and Sociology from the University at Buffalo.
