Stuart Etherington

Sir Stuart Etherington joined NatCen as Chair of Trustees in February 2021. He was Chief Executive of the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) until October 2019, previously Chief Executive of the Royal National Institute for Deaf People (RNID), and was appointed Chair of The Oversight Trust in July 2020. He was knighted in 2010 for services to the voluntary sector. Sir Stuart was a member of the Economic and Social Committee of the European Union and recently Chair of London United. He was Chair of the Patron’s Fund and chaired a cross party review looking at the structure of the regulation of fundraising. He is also an IES Honorary Fellow.
