Apurva Dave

Director, Climate Security Roundtable at National Academy of Sciences

Apurva Dave is an experienced professional in climate science and environmental policy, currently serving as the Director of the Climate Security Roundtable at The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine since July 2021. Previous roles include Program Officer at the U.S. Department of State, focused on air quality management capacity in developing countries, and leadership positions at Future Earth and the Global Commons Alliance, where strategic initiatives for global environmental change were developed. Apurva has also contributed as a Senior Scientist for the United States Global Change Research Program, where international cooperation on global change research was promoted. With a robust academic background, including a Ph.D. in Earth and Ocean Sciences from Duke University, Apurva has both teaching and research experience in climate dynamics and marine ecosystems.
