Mahfuzul Islam

Mahfuzul Islam has extensive experience in the banking sector, currently serving as the Head of the Willful Defaulter Identification Unit at National Bank of Pakistan, Bangladesh Operations since June 2024. Prior roles at National Bank of Pakistan include leadership positions such as Head of the Written Off Loan Recovery Unit, Head of Financial Literacy Wing, Head of Financial Inclusion Department, Head of HRD, Head of Sustainable Finance Department, Head of Risk Management Department, Head of Asset Recovery Department, and Chief Anti Money Laundering Compliance Officer. Additionally, Mahfuzul Islam worked as an Operations Manager at First Security Islami Bank Ltd. and held various roles related to credit and trade finance at Janata Bank Limited from 1998 to 2007. Mahfuzul Islam holds an MBA in Accounting and Finance from Asian University of Bangladesh and a Certified Financial Analyst qualification from CRISL, along with advanced degrees from the University of Dhaka and foundational education at West End High School and Dhaka College.
