Nancy Spector

Nancy Spector is the Director at the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) since August 2002, where leadership is provided to boards of nursing and educators regarding nursing education regulation. Nancy conducts research, publishes articles, and collaborates with global nursing regulators and educators. In April 2009, the role expanded to Director of Regulatory Innovations, focusing on the design of advanced resources and services for member boards. Prior to NCSBN, Nancy served as a tenured Assistant Professor at Loyola University from January 1990 to August 2002, where teaching, research, and committee leadership were responsibilities. Nancy began an academic career as an Instructor and Assistant Professor at DePaul University, teaching critical care nursing. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Nursing from Rush University and an MSN in Nursing from the University of California, San Francisco.
