Jess Terbrueggen

Standing Committee Member On Global Citizenship at National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE)

Jess Terbrueggen is a dedicated International Educator and teaching faculty member in IB English Literature and History at the District of Columbia International School since August 2023. In addition to this role, Jess serves on the Steering Committee for Human Rights Educators USA, contributing to strategic oversight and policy development, and coordinates communications for the Human Rights Education NOW! Podcast. Jess holds positions with the National Council of Teachers of English, focusing on global citizenship, and as an independent education consultant collaborating with various human rights organizations. With prior experience as Co-Director of Projects at Generation Human Rights and as a Human Rights Education Consultant for the UNHRC, Jess has a strong background in promoting human rights education and community engagement. Educationally, Jess earned a Master of Arts in English Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from the University of North Florida.
