Josh MacHleder

Josh M. is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in media, Internet freedom, and human rights. Currently serving as the Director at the National Endowment for Democracy since January 2024, Josh M. previously held the position of Senior Advisor for Media and Internet Freedom at USAID from March 2016 to January 2024. Prior experience includes serving as the Vice President for Europe and Eurasia and overseeing Global Human Rights Programs at Internews Network from November 2008 to February 2016, as well as functioning as the Country Director in Thailand. Josh M. holds a degree from Columbia University, attended from 1987 to 1991.
