Bernard Salt is a council member at the National Museum of Australia. Bernard is also an adjunct professor at Curtin University Business School, and a presenter/host on Sky News Business.
Bernard has over 30 years of experience in business and consulting. Bernard began their career in 1989 as a consultant at Coopers & Lybrand Consulting. Bernard quickly rose through the ranks, becoming a senior consultant, manager, senior manager, associate director, and finally director. In 1997, they left Coopers & Lybrand to join KPMG Australia.
At KPMG, Bernard was responsible for helping clients grow their businesses by understanding demographic trends and using that knowledge to make strategic decisions. Bernard left KPMG in 2010 to join The Australian newspaper as their business commentator. In this role, they provided readers with insights into how demographic changes were affecting businesses and the economy.
In 2011, Bernard became an adjunct professor at Curtin University Business School. Bernard continued in this role until 2020. In 2017, they also began hosting "The Next Five Years with Bernard Salt," a weekly show on Sky News Business that looks at current business issues and asks guests and panel experts their view on how these issues might unfold over the next five years.
Bernard Salt completed a Master of Arts in Geography at Monash University.
