Kendra Owenby

Kendra Owenby is a seasoned archeologist and cultural resources specialist with extensive experience in both public service and educational roles. Currently employed at the National Park Service since November 2016, Kendra contributes as an archeologist and cultural resources specialist for Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area and Obed Wild and Scenic River. Kendra also works as a sales associate at Nantahala Outdoor Center, assisting customers with outdoor gear and providing information about activities in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Kendra's previous positions include education assistant at the East Tennessee Historical Society, where responsibilities involved implementing educational programs, and archeology technician roles at both Valles Caldera Trust and the National Park Service, focusing on archaeological survey and site assessments. Kendra holds a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and Anthropology from Middle Tennessee State University and is pursuing a Master of Public Administration at California State University-Dominguez Hills.
