Henning Schulzrinne is a distinguished professional with extensive experience in telecommunications and technology policy. Currently serving as a Broadband Advisor at the US Department of Commerce's National Telecommunications and Information Administration since December 2022, Schulzrinne is also a Professor in the Computer Science department at Columbia University, a position held since 1996. Previous roles include serving as a Technology Fellow for Senator Ron Wyden from September 2019 to August 2020 and Chief Technology Officer at the Federal Communications Commission from January 2012 to August 2017, where a range of advisory roles were also undertaken. Early career experience includes roles at AT&T and Bell Labs as a Member of Technical Staff. Schulzrinne holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a Master’s in Electrical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati.
