Alexandria McCombs

Alexandria McCombs, Ph.D., is a meteorologist with extensive experience in both research and teaching. Currently working at the National Weather Service since September 2024, McCombs previously held the position of Meteorologist Developer at Lynker, where skills in Python coding and validation studies were emphasized. As an Assistant Professor of Atmospheric Science at Salisbury University, McCombs developed and taught courses in Python programming and contributed to climate data visualization projects. With a robust research background as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Colorado Boulder and the University of South Carolina, McCombs collaborated on significant projects, including agricultural carbon cycle modeling and deployment of meteorological networks. Early career roles included quality assurance at the Oklahoma Climatological Survey. McCombs holds a Ph.D. in Geography from the University of South Carolina-Columbia, and advanced degrees in GeoInformatics and Meteorology from the University of Oklahoma.
