Elizabeth Clay Roy

Elizabeth Clay Roy serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Generation Citizen, a role undertaken since January 2021, aiming to ensure effective action civics education for all students in the United States. In addition, Elizabeth participates as a NationSwell Council Member, contributing to a community focused on enhancing social impact. Prior experiences include serving as Executive Director at TakeRoot Justice, where Elizabeth provided legal and policy support for social justice movements, and as Chief of Staff and Chief Strategy Officer at Phipps Neighborhoods, facilitating community service and educational programs for low-income families. Elizabeth has also held roles such as Deputy Director of Opportunity Nation, Director of Grassroots Governance for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and Associate Analyst at Abt Associates. Elizabeth's educational background includes a Master of City Planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies and Political Science from Columbia University.
