Jill Mercer

Jill Mercer is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in litigation and employment law. Currently serving as Assistant General Counsel and Managing Counsel in the Litigation and Employment Department at Nationwide since May 2011, Jill Mercer leads the defense of extra-contractual and bad faith litigation involving Nationwide agents and companies. Prior to this role, Jill Mercer worked as a Trial Attorney from 2005 to 2011, representing Nationwide and policyholders in various civil cases across Ohio. Jill Mercer also served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Environmental Enforcement Section from 2003 to 2005, focusing on environmental law and representing the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency. Jill Mercer earned a Juris Doctorate from Capital University Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from The Ohio State University.
