Sameer Kwatra

Sameer Kwatra is an accomplished Policy Director for the India Program at the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), with extensive experience in climate change, clean energy, and energy efficiency. Since joining NRDC in June 2015, Sameer has also served as Acting Director for India and previously as a Climate Change and Energy Policy Analyst. Prior to NRDC, Sameer worked as a Senior Analyst at the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy, where research focused on energy efficiency in buildings. Earlier roles included analysis of India's National Solar Mission as a Speth Fellow at NRDC and research at Yale University on environmental impacts of metals. With a notable background in financial analysis and market strategy from ICICI Prudential Life Insurance, along with a foundation in sales from Grindwell Norton, Sameer holds multiple degrees, including a Master’s in Environmental Management from Yale University, bolstered by qualifications in Marketing, Finance, and Mechanical Engineering.
