Alicia Simmons

Alicia Simmons has extensive experience in human resources, currently serving as the Deputy Director of Human Resources at NCDOT since October 2019. Prior roles at the NC Department of Transportation include Assistant Director of Human Resources, Agency Human Resources Manager, and various analyst positions focused on policy, compensation, and program review. Additional experience as a Personnel Technician and Administrative Specialist demonstrates expertise in personnel actions and HR operations. Alicia holds a Master of Arts in Human Services Counseling with a focus on Crisis Response and Trauma, along with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Liberty University, complementing a background that includes military service as a Personnel Services Sergeant in the North Carolina Army National Guard.
