Samir Khleif

Prof. Khleif is a medical oncologist, immunologist, and immune therapist. He is a Biomedical Scholar and professor at Georgetown University. Director of the Loop laboratories for Immuno-oncology. His research program is focused on understanding mechanisms of resistance to immunotherapy, the rational combination of immune-therapeutics, the suppressive mechanisms of the immune system, and T cell plasticity and therapeutic reprogramming. Prior to transferring his research program to Georgetown University in 2017, Dr. Khleif served as the Director of Georgia Cancer Center, Augusta University. Dr. Khleif was an intramural NIH scientist for 20 years where he served as a leader of the Cancer Vaccine Section, leading some of the first clinical trials in immunotherapy. He also served as Special Assistant to the FDA Commissioner. Dr. Khleif has much high-impact peer-review research. He is the editor of 3 books in immunotherapy and cancer therapeutics.
