Tom Preston-Werner

Tom Preston-Werner is a seasoned entrepreneur and investor with significant experience in the technology sector. As a cofounder of Preston-Werner Ventures since March 2019, Tom has focused on investing in early-stage technology companies, particularly in developer tools, climate tech, and AI, amassing over 145 investments to date. Tom serves as a board member at Netlify and has co-founded multiple companies, including 128 Collective and Chatterbug. Previous roles include cofounder and key leadership positions at GitHub, as well as founding roles at Codestarter and Powerset, Inc. Tom began their career as a software developer at The Active Network, Inc. Tom attended Harvey Mudd College for two years, studying computer science, after graduating from Dubuque Senior High School.
