Roman Novozhilov

Roman Novozhilov, PhD, CAIA, serves as the Head of ESG at New Development Bank since May 2017, overseeing the integration of environmental, social, and governance considerations in banking and investment processes for infrastructure projects in BRICS countries. Prior to this role, Roman Novozhilov worked at the International Finance Corporation from September 2005 to May 2017, where responsibilities included ESG integration and client engagement in China and Southeast Asia. Earlier experience includes positions as a Sustainability Consultant at The World Bank and as an Adjunct Lecturer at American University. Roman Novozhilov began a career in finance as an Investment Analyst at ORIMI Investments, focusing on M&A transactions. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Economic Sociology from American University, a Master's degree from Central European University, a Bachelor's degree from Saint Petersburg State University, and study abroad in European Studies at Universidade Nova de Lisboa.
