Matthew Kohli

Matthew Kohli is a Junior Geologist currently employed at New Gold Inc. since January 2022, with prior experience in similar roles at Axiom Exploration Group and Yamana Gold Inc. Matthew's background includes work as a Geotechnician and contributions to field monitoring efforts with Suncor, where responsibilities included groundwater and soil sampling, data collection, and CAD design support. Earlier experience as a Geological Assistant with the Geological Survey of Manitoba involved fieldwork, data entry, and sample preparation. Matthew also served as Head Youth Leader at St Marks Lutheran Church, overseeing youth events and managing a team of volunteers. Initial roles included contracting as a Natural Gas Surveyor and work as a Tree Planter, along with a foundation in customer service from a position at McDonald's. Matthew holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of Manitoba.
