Josif Figueroa

Josif Figueroa is a Planning Engineer at NYISO, tasked with developing complex power system models and conducting security and adequacy analyses. Previously, Josif served as a Mitacs Intern at Énergie NB Power, where responsibilities included creating an open-source Composite System Reliability evaluation tool and investigating the integration of Energy Storage Systems. Josif's experience also encompasses roles as a Research Assistant at SYS-MoDEL, a Teaching Assistant at the University of New Brunswick, and an Electrical Engineer at Worley, focusing on supporting SQM projects and preparing detailed electrical designs. Early career roles include Energy Efficiency Engineer at Efi-zity and an internship at Pacific Hydro. Josif holds a Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from the University of New Brunswick, a Graduate Diploma in Project Management from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, and an Engineer's degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems from Universidad de Santiago de Chile.
