Peter Applebee

Peter Applebee is an experienced professional in policy and program development, currently serving as the Director of Policy and Program Development at NYSUT since May 2022. Prior to this role, Peter held the position of Manager for Higher Education, Education Finance, and Federal Programs at New York State United Teachers from September 2010 to May 2022. Peter's experience includes serving as Assistant Chief Budget Examiner at the Division of the Budget, Deputy Director at the NYS Senate Finance Committee, and Education Committee Director at the NYS Senate. Peter holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy from the University at Albany and a Bachelor's degree in Economics/Political Science from Le Moyne College.
