Oona Timonen is a social therapist currently working with the City of Helsinki since July 2024. Previously, Oona held the position of Specialist in Employment and Stakeholder Collaboration at the Finnish Refugee Council from April to December 2023 and served as a Youth Employment Specialist at Ohjaamo Helsinki from January 2018 to March 2023. Additional roles include Personal Coach at Työväen Sivistysliitto TSL ry, Researcher at UNICEF Finland, and Career Coach at Monik ry. Oona contributed as a Consultant for Finn Church Aid and worked as both Research Assistant and Consultant at the University of Jyväskylä. Earlier experience includes evaluating and consulting on development projects for various NGOs and serving as a Project Assistant at the Finnish Children and Youth Foundation. Oona holds a Master of Social Sciences in Development Studies from the University of Helsinki, complemented by a study stint at the University of Murcia, Spain.
